Dedication

Moving onto the next step to becoming a Master Electrician requires even more time and energy.  Tradesmen of any kind are often overlooked and underappreciated.  The amount of work hours these individuals put in learning to well, master their trade, is not for the fickle.

Journeyman Electrician:

Once you’ve completed 8,000 hours of work and fulfilled all requirements as an apprentice under a master electrician you can then take the exam to become a journeyman electrician. You will also need to submit another application and an application fee. Once your application is accepted, you will need to take and pass an exam. From here you will receive your TDLR license # and a certificate that will enable you to work without supervision as well as allows you to train new apprentices. Journeymen are required to take continued education and renew their license every 18 months. You will need to complete an additional 4,000 hours to move on to the next step- master electrician.

Apprenticing under someone who is knowledgable, not only within their trade skills- but who has an excellent work ethic, as well as great customer service is crucial to building a successful career as an electrician. Bad work habits and shortcuts can lead to the loss of jobs. Here at Bailey and Sledge Electrical employees are trained to be the best of the best in the industry.
